Full of mystery, legend & charm Kerry has an abundance of diverse & dramatic landscape made up of mountains, lakes, forests & coastline, a Photographer's dream, heaven on earth as far as I'm concerned, for the Landscape Photographer the opportunities are endless.
The highest mountain in Co, Kerry is Carrountoohill in the Macgillycuddy Reeks range on the Iveragh Peninsula, also the highest mountain in Ireland standing at 1.038.6 Mt or 3407 ft. Co Kerry also contains Ireland's first national park set up in 1932 and known as Killarney NP, it is now the largest national park on the island of Ireland. The park is famous for its beautiful lakes and stunning scenery. It also boasts the largest native oak woodland in Ireland, a remnant of woodlands that once covered most of the island.
Kerry's climate on the north Atlantic current, part of the golf stream which flows past Ireland's west coast, resulting in a milder temperatures for a 53 degree north latitude. Kerry has one of the highest rainfalls in Ireland with snow & frost in winter especially on the higher ground.
